Become a Member
You can become a supporting or active member of Salt Spring Sanctuary Society, or you can gift someone with a membership.
A supporting membership helps the Sanctuary out with important seed money. We will issue an official receipt for income tax purposes in the amount of your donation at tax time.
A $20 active membership provides access to the seeds of the Sanctuary. You can choose up to five varieties from our databases. If you send us records of how they do, you will be entitled to choose another five varieties the next time around. As long as you continue to maintain varieties and let us know about them, your initial membership fee keeps you as an active member.
A $20 gift membership will provide your recipient with the same benefits as an active membership.
The quantity of seed we send you or your gift recipient will depend on the availability of growing space and our availability of seed. If more than five varieties is desired, we'll request an additional donation. If you're happy with us choosing the seeds for you, we'll gladly do that.
By becoming a member of the Seed and Plant Sanctuary, you help to preserve Canada's rich diversity of food and medicinal plants in a time when our agricultural heritage is threatened more than ever.
Paying By PayPal
PayPal is a very well known and safe online payment company. If you have a credit card you can quickly and easily sign up with PayPal and send us money via the internet.
If you are purchasing an active membership here is how the seed selection works:
- Click the Active Membership button above and either register for an account or sign in
- When you are making your purchase please include your selected seed varieties in the Message to Seller field
If you are purchasing a gift membership here is how the seed selection works:
- Click the Gift Membership button above and either register for an account or sign in
- When you are making your purchase please include either include your selected seed varieties to gift, or contact details for your gift recipient in the Message to Seller field
Paying By Cheque or Money Order
Your cheque or money order should be made out to Salt Spring Sanctuary Society.
If you are signing up for an active membership please include information on which five seed varieties you are interested in.
If you are purchasing gift memberships please include information on which five seed varieties you would like us to send your gift recipient OR provide their contact information so that we can contact them.
